Club & Course Rules

  • Arrival

    On arrival all visitors must register at the Golf Shop . Tee times must be booked in advance on 01623 626689 option 2. Golfers must play from the tees of the day unless prior permission has been granted.

  • Handicaps

    Handicap certificates or CDH numbers are required. Visiting golfers are expected to hold a current club handicap and provide a handicap certificate on arrival.

  • Dress Code - Clubhouse

    We trust our guests and members to dress appropriately for a golf club and the guidance below should help you determine what is appropriate:

    ACCEPTABLE – CLUBHOUSE

    • Appropriate golf attire or smart casual wear.
    • Deck shoes or sandals (with or without socks)
    • Trainers
    • Denim trousers/skirts and shirts.

    UNACCEPTABLE – CLUBHOUSE

    • Waterproofs
    • Hats (apart from religious observance)
    • Golf shoes are not to be worn in the Lounge area
    • Tracksuits or torn jeans.
    • Beach or athletics/football shorts.
    • Vests, athletic or sports shirts.
    • Plastic or rubber flip-flops.
  • Dress Code - Course

    DRESS CODE – COURSE

    • Smart recognised golf attire will be accepted at all times.
    • Men’s shirts must be worn inside trousers/shorts.
    • Appropriate golf footwear must be worn by players at all times.
    • Golf headgear must be worn correctly, with the peak to the front.

    The following attire is NOT permitted on the Course.

    Any form of denim, T-shirts, vest tops, track or leisure suits, beach or combat shorts and plastic beach flip-flops or Sliders.

  • Patio Dress Code

    This is a relaxed area combining golfers who have just completed their rounds or members and members / visitors.

    The following are not permitted

    • Tracksuits or torn jeans.
    • Beach or athletics/football shorts.
    • Vests, athletic or sports shirts.
    • Flip-flops or Sliders.
  • Mobile Phones / Tablets

    All mobile devices must be used with full consideration of those around you. The making and receiving of voice calls in the bar/lounge areas is to be avoided with any essential calls conducted in non-seating areas of the club. Please ensure that phones are in silent mode at all times anywhere on the premises.

    As a courtesy to your fellow members, please refrain from making or receiving voice calls on the course other than in an emergency. Other smart phone functions such as email and texting should only be performed where there is no possibility of disturbing other players or of holding up play.

  • Smoking Policy

    In line with Government Ruling, Sherwood Forest Golf Club operates a no smoking policy. This also applies to E Cigarettes.

    Please refrain from smoking (or vaping) anywhere indoors and only smoke in designated areas.
